“Ron Balthazor’s book is a sensory and spiritual delight. Channeling Henry David Thoreau and Aldo Leopold, among other inspirational writers, he describes the wonder, meaning, and solace he finds on a small farm in the Georgia Piedmont. Through a year of seasons, Balthazor offers monthly meditations on his garden and the natural world. His essays embrace the continuity of life and death in all living things: a comforting balm we need now more than ever.”

Sharing A Book of Seasons
Five months ago, A Book of Seasons was published by the good folks at Mercer University Press. Many of you came to our launch event at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, and what a wonderful night it was. Thank you for making it more than I could ever have imagined.
Since then, I have participated in a number of readings and signings and have loved seeing so many old friends and making new ones. I love hearing how and where you are reading ABoS. A number of you are reading my book monthly, enjoying the meditations in the month for which they were written. A friend recently noted that such reading is akin to liturgy. I love it.
As you read the book, I would be most grateful if you would share your thoughts on social media (FB Instagram LinkedIn Substack) and offer reviews on GoodReads and Amazon.
If you are in a garden club or a book club and you would like for me to join you to talk about ABoS (in person or via Zoom), please send me a note: abookofseaons@gmail.com or fill out the form here: https://www.abookofseasons.com/contact
Thank you. I hope you enjoy all the glories of the coming of fall, the season of harvest, and the of beauty of the leaf drop. Of course in the Georgia garden, it is also the beginning of a new season (I’ve been planting the fall garden this week). May all your gardens thrive. I’m so glad ABoS is now part of your wheel of the year.
Where are you reading A Book of Seasons ?
Many people of faith eschew the natural for the unseen supernatural. Ron’s abiding faith resides in the sacred mysteries of the natural. He demonstrates this throughout these pages. . .
So read this book outdoors. Allow birdsong to interrupt. --Andy Irwin
As my friend Andy noted in the forward of ABoS, the book begs to be read outdoors (or at least on your porch). With the cooler days now with is, it is a perfect season to read ABoS in the woods or by the garden.
I would love to hear and see where you are reading ABoS. I’ve created a StoryMap to track and share the migrations of the book. Please check out the book’s journeys and then add to them by sending me a photograph of where you are reading ABoS: abookofseasons@gmail.com

My Profile in Page Turner
I’m thrilled to have a profile in Page Turner, the magazine by the Georgia Writers Museum and the Atlanta Writers Club. I loved working with Chip Bell on this interview. Check it out.

I thought I’d preordered but haven’t seen it. Would you have a quick link, Ron? Congratulations, and I’m looking forward to reading!
